Happy birthday to Charles Darwin and Abraham Lincoln, both born February 12, 1809.

Why would we have special services in a church to celebrate any ones birth except Jesus's? Is not the church suppose to be the place we go and worship God?

Quite right Hmac. There is no reason why christianity and evolution cannot go hand in hand. I know a rather eminent Priest who also embraces evolution. He is a real priest and not one of the dangerous fundamentalist breed who laughingly believe the earth is 6000 years old and take the Adam and Eve story literally. After all only a fool chooses to ignore the proof of observation and factual evidence.

If something in the Bible is proven wrong, why isn't it rewritten? The fancy allegory can be preserved and you don't have people claiming stupid ****** is true just because it's in "The Book."

The "idea "of Intelligent design isn't a sly fabrication of creationists to repackage and re-present it in another acceptable form, but rather a conclusion from well known Physicists who study the structure of the universe. There findings and conclusions support proof of Gods' existence but most can't understand their findings so we find ourselves mired in the simple rationalizations of the "little minds".Science came about as a "safer" and more realistic method of studying the natural world around us as opposed to the superstitious right wing of religion. We've been advanced greatly by this method, and it is not and never has been in opposition to God and Christianity.Only those on either side for pride's sake battling each other down through history have created the rift between Creationism and Science. Most of us have chosen sides by accepting the blinded stances of the most vocal promoters of each "camp".True open mindedness is hard to maintain.

Name the well known physicists please and what they said, specifically the "proof" of Gods existence. Regardless of whether or not there was a creator does not deny Darwinian evolution.

Looks like GS got booted again, too bad he is certainly the poster child for what's wrong with Evangelical Christianity. I think he/she has done more to promote atheism than I could ever do.
