This a very interesting interview to Jim Wallis author of "God's Politics: Why the Right Gets it Wrong and the Left Doesn't Get it" brings a New Vision for Faith and Politics in America. Is religious discourse exclusive to the "religious right"? What about Obama and democrats? What about the hot button issues? Check it out!

Sorry Z but I see all organized religion as being nothing more than a sop for the masses and a tool used by some to exert power and influence over many for their own personal enRICHment!

Tucker made it clear what he is. To him Abortion is the single issue. Never mind what happens to all the babies born to poor, unmarried teens. Never mind if the mother was raped, or the baby is a product of incest.

The Tuckers of the world tout adoption as the answer, but don't adopt.

The abortion debate will not be resolved till we start to debate root causes and real solutions to them. Yes, it is a tragedy when a mother decides on an abortion. It is equally a tragedy -- often a far longer lasting one -- when another unwanted child is brought into the world and dumped into the child "welfare" system.

ET: That is a brilliant assesment, thanks. The socio economic problems of the inner city poor are at the root of the abortion issue. There must be something more proactive than just Roe v Wade, since a poor woman will proceed no matter what. And for the rich folk, they'll proceed as well with the lastest pill. The problem is socioeconomic, using abortion as a wedge issue to lure simplistic christian folk has not and will not address the real issue at stake.

We really need to come together and work on more ways to reduce the need for abortion. No matter what laws are passed abortion will always exist as it always has.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: If your argument can't stand on its own in the face of facts; if you need to bring something as unquestionable as "faith" or "god" or "Jesus" in to support your argument, then you will always fail.

There are good, logical reasons to help the poor. There are good, logical reasons to visit people in prisons. There are good, logical reasons to preserve the environment.

Bringing god into it will only make things worse. People who disagree without will turn into evil demons, and people who agree with you but not with your theology will be turned off by it.

Conversely, if you need a god or savior to want to do the right thing, you need to take a look at your motivations.

This is the problem: We are trying to solve spiritual problems with man-made tools. That is why more problems occur and existing problems are made worse.

I disagree. The problem is that we've got real world problems that people are trying to solve with made up spirituality.

The spirit can't be physically verified and is therefore not real.

"with the explicit cooperation of ethically corrupt right wing clergy."

It's not clear that the left wing clergy are any better. The leftstream media simply magnifies the sins of the conservative clergy more.

Do you know of any left wing clergy caught in corruption, closet homosexuality, accepting "gifts", cronyism etc.?

Tucker: At the end of the interview. " I cant even hear that conversation until that stumbling block is removed."

This after hearing all the other problems that are presented to him. He shoves it all off of the table over one issue, and claims to be a man of faith.

(In my opinion) He lets his arrogance get the better of him and cannot see the wisdom of focusing on the positives of what he can change.
