Why would god, who wants people to believe, provide evidence that the literal word is not true? If the world *looked* like it was only 6,000 years old, and if we could only see stars out to 6,000 light years that would be significant evidence that the Bible is literally true. I'm sure many more people would "come to god" if this were the case. But it's not.
So you have to ask yourself: Why?
