Good article. The reference to the arrogant attitude of the evolutionists/atheists especially poigniant.Who is preaching intolerance? As an example - the previous post that uses wrong behavior of a Christian nation as proof of Christians being hate mongers. The wrong spoken of has nothing to do with true Christianity.

The Jesus fish on the backs of cars are a symbol of christian superiority and thus should be mocked. In the southern US, the dominant christianity symbolism is personally offensive to me and deserves nothing but ridicule. People who are low key about their religious delusions do not bother me at all, believe what you want. Just stop putting those stupid fish on your car. And while you're at it, take down the billboards that say stuff like "Don't make me come down there! -God"

Sometimes it is very hard to show respect. It can be very frustrating dealing with people that I feel are completely delusional. Imagine how you would feel if someone was constantly telling you in all seriousness that Santa Claus had his eye on you and if you aren't careful it'll be coal for you this year. Or, the mailbox down on the corner should be revered because it was responsible for creating the birds and the bees.

At any given time, there are several self-righteous believers trying to argue in favor of biblical floods, virgin births, talking shrubbery and assorted literate livestock. The list just goes on and on and on. They expect intelligent people to suspend their disbelief in the patently ridiculous and listen to them spout off on things even they have to take on faith. All people deserve respect, but quite frankly I think intelligent, rational people give their ideas far more respect than they deserve.
