Haynes III said Sunday that he lost a chance to be NAACP president and chief executive because he would not leave the Dallas megachurch he has led for the last 25 years. The Rev. Frederick D. Haynes III of Dallas lost out to former news executive Benjamin Jealous as NAACP president.
