  More good news from Lakeland. Todd's team contacted the girl (Julia) and the pastor and they said the entire village gave their lives to Christ because of the resurrection!
  Sounds very much the same reason why Jesus raised Lazarus...As a result of incredible miracles, many people put their faith in Jesus.

    As for "the entire village gave their lives to Christ", you do realize that Guatemala is about 99% Christian, don't you? Nearly 60% Catholic and 40% Protestant. That's significantly more (proportionally) than the U.S.

        As for the "The Gospel of St Thomas" you quote, I'm not all that familiar with it, nor do I reference it. I believe it's considered a "gnostic" gospel, thus is not included in the recognized Bible.

        That's mostly modern gnosticism, with a few exceptions. Not all Gnostics were of the Christian variety. Nevertheless, Gnostic Christians came before the other Christian varieties. Wikipedia is not the end all of information. It is merely a starting point.

        It would be good if you could to a careful study of the history of the EARLY Christians--they were not Gnostics.
        Gnosticism pre-dates Christianity and has Middle-eastern (non-Jewish) roots. Within its roots are philosophical and religious pessimism, pseudo-intellectualism and a trust solely in magical knowledge.
        Gnosticism infiltrated Christianity some time after the founding of the early Christian church. The Gnostic gospels differ in many critical respects with the Gospels found in the Christian canon, which pre-dates them. Gnosticism is an outside infiltration into Christianity, not a source thereof.
        Although author Brown's use of literary license (read "twisting the truth") in the backstory within "The DaVinci Code" has generated much recent interest in the Gnostic Gospels, almost all orthodox Christian bodies consistently reject the Gnostic gospels as "outside the stream of truth."

        If you do, then you are also gnostic at heart, and there is little or no way to rationally convince you of your error-- for of such is the essence of Gnosticism.
        Gnostics were (and are) the original elitists-- they were "better" than the others (non-gnostics) simply because they knew things the others did not. Therefrom originated their "power" and "substance."

        Most of your comment is correct. You said Gnostics did predate the Christians and came from other roots, and that is quite correct. The gnostic concept is the concept that the first Christians followed. Probably not all of them, but still many of them. Christianity didn't come even close to uniting under one banner until Constantine.

        Once again, MM, you are out on your own limb with your statements.....
        And you are looking at Christian history through Western (European) eyes.
        Just because Constantine forcibly achieved unity in the then 290-year old church does NOT MEAN there was no consensus of doctrine and practice before that time. And the pre-Constantine consensus was that the Gnostic "heretics" and their "secret" writings were outside the scope of Christian doctrine and philosophy. Despite the twisted "telling of history" by Dan Brown in The DaVinci Code, that is why the so-called Gnostic "gospels" were rejected overwhelmingly when the Christian canon was codified. And that's why they were "put away" for so many years-- they were at great variance with identified Christian doctrine that few people were interested in them.

        MM, you can persist in your vein of thought, and refuse to consider logic and accurate historical consensus. But, then again, that's what Gnostics do--they place themselves above the rest of us. They ignore reason, re-defining reality through their eyes/thought system, based directly upon pseudo-intellectualism and profound trust in magical knowledge....
        I do not know if you are even aware of how far off your statements are:
        "The Gnostics were the first Christians." That statement is not even remotely true!
        And your statement that "the first Christians were Gnostics" does not line up with mainstream Christian writings of that period. It only coincides with ideas of the Gnostics themselves. Go figure!
        Their arguments, like their thought systems and perceptions of reality, are circular.....
        So if anyone wants to hear a validation of Gnostic thought, all they need to do is to ask one.

        You can attack the Gnostics all you like, and your attacks about their elitism are probably correct, but the fact remains they were the first. Well, more accurately, they were AMONG the first Christians. Of course mainstream Christians dispute that. It would kinda disprove a lot of what they believe in. You keep bring up Dan Brown. What does a fiction writer have to do with any of this. Of course Dan Brown was not accurate in his portrayal. It was fiction!

        Now, if you could simply extend that thought to the Gnostic writings as well.......

        First statement, agreed :-) The numbers may be debatable, but they were there. Gnosticism in itself is not of any particular religion.
        I personally know quite a few people who think The DaVinci Code is fact. It's a decent story, but that's all it is.
        As for extending that thought to Gnostic writings, I never said that I put any stock in them. Merely that they were there at the start.

Good idea to move the resurrections outside of America, next to impossible to follow-up. Not that any follow up has been possible with your other claims...Not to worry though, I am sure Bentley has the documents in the mail.
I wonder why you or Bentley hasn't kept up with their promise to tape and measure the man who 'grew an extra inch in his leg stumps', I was looking forward to seeing his new legs, but he is forgotten and you folks have simply moved on to the next 'miracle'. Of course it is funner making claims rather than backing those claims up.

  I wonder which village it was? The article says the San Pedro La Laguna area. San Pedro La Laguna is not exactly a village, although there are more than a few villages around it. My daughter is going to the neighboring city Quetzaltenango this Saturday for three weeks. I wonder if there is anything she can check out about this while she's there.

    As mentioned above, Thomas was provided evidence. Are we "hecklers" less worthy of evidence than Thomas? The bible plainly says there will be false prophets who will work wonders. It also says that the believers shall handle snakes and drink deadly things. Stage magicians work wonders (apparently). Yet they are understood to be smoke and mirrors. Is Bentley smoke and mirrors? What about this teenager in Guatemala? Or her handlers? Without objective examination, we can only assume so.

I've said before, "those who weren't satisfied with the world telling them that the world was flat, set sail to find out for themselves". I suggest you spend a week in Lakeland. FreshFire Ministries and Ignited Church are VERY available. Go to Lakeland if you need "hands-on" proof as you stated above. My wife and I were able to get volunteer positions on the FreshFire Ministry Team without much ado (other than committing to get there early, and stay for the entirety of the meeting). Just do it, if you really think you can debunk and expose this entire Revival. *Be warned ahead of time though, you may just lose your disbelief (and any resident demons) in the process... ;-)

I don't think it's as easy as "overnighting" a bundle of documents and creating a news "documentary" in a day. Geraldo's a freelancer. He can get away with winging a blunder and live (well) by doing so. Network's can't.

        Other way around. Dead-ends and impossible follow-ups are exactly what one would expect from a fraud. Your 'leads' lead nowhere, after 90 some days if any of those 'leads' were factual then you're right, we should be able to come up with something, but instead of follow-up documentation all you present are new unsubstantiated claims.         Ah, you are quite correct. There's one south of Guatemala City - about 25 miles, apparently in the Guatemala department (more or less, a county to us). There's another one in the San Pedro La Laguna area - in the Olola department. This one looks to be about 100 miles or so from Quetzaltenango. Those are the only ones I have seen so far, but I'll take your word that there is a third one.
        How about some verification, mikhurst? Olola department or Guatemala department?

I find that a bit absurd, as I believe most people (let alone most parents) wouldn't want to broadcast their mental instabilities to their children. Even if she is "of course" aware of it, I would need to know IF SHE BELIEVES that you are Jehovah. If she does, "of course", I would have to discount her testimony even if she found the village. If she believes you indeed are God, I feel you could easily manipulate her testimony. Fair enough?

        Just wondering what a young lady would be doing in 3rd World country. It's not an education mecca and it looks like the most memorable thing to do is climb a volcano.
        Missions work is a common passion that draws youth to foreign countries. I though perhaps she might be pursuing serving the "real" God of Creation.

        She's practicing her Spanish. Full immersion. Missions work in a country that is 99% Christian is a bit silly, unless you're Hindu, Muslim, or some other religion. And don't knock climbing a volcano. That can be fun.

Did it ever occur to you that "missionaries" build schools, hospitals and orphanages where there are none? Did it ever occur to you that "missionaries" teach people how to live sustainable lives? Did it ever occur to you that the 99% figure might be wrong? Or do you maybe figure that the village of 90 that gave their lives to Christ pushed the Christianity level to 100% now in Guatemala, and all the missions work is "completed"? I've come to understand that "missions work" in 3rd World countries is not "door knocking" or proselytizing.
